Fergus, Rebecca, Cillian & Fintan
Practice owners.
Fergus qualified as a Veterinary surgeon in 2004 from University College Dublin, in the Republic of Ireland. He gained valuable experience working in multidisciplinary referral hospitals, developing a strong interest and extensive knowledge in veterinary surgery.
Originally from Tipperary, Fergus moved to England shortly after qualifying to expand his knowledge of small animals. It was here that Fergus gained RCVS Certification in Small Animal Surgery. After providing an orthopeadic and soft tissue peripatetic service to practices in the North East of England for 9 years he decided to leave the UK for a life down under in 2022.
Fergus has a particular interest in Orthapaedic surgery and specialises in performing in a range of orthapaedic procedures. He is passionate about providing high-quality surgical care and achieving the best possible outcomes for his patients. Fergus takes great pride in caring for the local community and their pets.
Rebecca became a registered Veterinary Nurse in 2012, after beginning her career in first-opinion veterinary practice in 2008. She then moved into referral nursing, where she gained valuable experience working with more complex cases and further developing her clinical skills.
With experience across both general practice and referral medicine, Rebecca brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to West Cessnock Veterinary Hospital. Rebecca is passionate about providing excellent patient care and building strong relationships with clients and their pets.
Alicia
Alicia has been part of the West Cessnock Veterinary Hospital Team since 2009 and graduated as a qualified Veterinary Nurse in 2010. With a genuine love for animals and a passion for their wellbeing, she has spent many years building her knowledge and experience in the Veterinary industry.
Since 2019, Alicia has been part of the AVNAT program, which involves becoming registered, and completing ongoing continuing education each year to further develop her skills and stay up to date with the latest veterinary care. She is particularly passionate about avian, wildlife and exotic animal medicine, and loves caring for more than unusual patents that come through the hospital.
Alicia's love for animals certainly doesn't stop when she clocks off. Outside of work, she runs a domestic bird resue, dedicating much of her spare time to helping birds in need and giving them a second chance. When she's not busy with her feathered friends, she enjoys spending time with her husband and young daughter, who keeps life busy and full of love.
Teash
Teash gained her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2015. She has since developed an interest in anaesthesia and inpatient care.
Since qualifying in 2015, Teash has continued to study, her most recent study being brachycephalic anaesthesia and neonatal emergencies. Teash is currently completing her advanced anesthesia in small animal practice certificate.
Outside of work and studing, Teash enjoys riding her horse Tyee and exploring the world with her three young children.
Paige
Paige completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2025 after undertaking her placement here at West Cessnock Veterinary Hospital. Since then, she has continued to grow her skills and knowledge as part of our team.
Paige has a particular interest in caring for Hospital patients and assisting with surgical procedures. She also loves building relationships with clients and their pets, making sure they feel comfortable, supported and well looked after throughout their time at the clinic.
Outside of work, Paige enjoys spending time outdoors and having lots of cuddles with her dog, Bindi.
Carlie
Having graduated in 2016 with a certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, Carlie brings over 10 years of experience, knowledge and passion to the team at West Cessnock Veterinary Hospital, joining us in early 2026.
Throughout her career, she has developed a strong interest in surgical nursing and has furhter expanded her skills through additional training in physiotherapy and animal behaviour.
Known for her warm and caring nature, Carlie is passionate about building genuine relationships with clients and their pets. She believes that creating trust, making clients feel comfortable, and providing compassionate care are just as important as the clinical side of nursing.
Outside of the clinic, you'll find her enjoying life with her family and keeping busy with her husband, two young children, a French bulldog, a british shorthair cat and a Macaw!
She feels incredibly fortunate to turn her love of animals into a career and looks forward to providing the very best care to the pateints here at West Cessnock Veterinary Hospital.
Lydia
Lydia gained her Certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing in 2026.

Kaitlyn gained her Certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing in 2026.
